Brooklyn Style Pizza
Pizza first came to the U.S. in the late 1800s, when Italian immigrants were kind enough to bring with them traditional methods and recipes for making this wonderful food. Many Italians settled in the Bronx, Manhattan, Brooklyn and towns in New Jersey close to NYC.
Most commonly prepared in early Italian-American kitchens was the Margherita, a pizza pie created in the late 1880s and named for Queen Margherita of Italy, who symbolized for many Italians a regal gentility. The creation, representing the colors of Italy's flag with it's bright green basil, deep red tomatoes and fresh, white mozzarella, is actually a predecessor of the Brooklyn style pizza made right here.
Read on to find out what makes this Brooklyn pie so special. Or, just look at the menus provided online for both of our locations, then call to place your order for carryout. You are also welcome to stop in on your break or after work (or play) with some friends to enjoy the warm, friendly atmosphere and fabulous pizzeria that is Piccolo Trattoria.

Piccolo's Pizzas and Brooklyn Pie
For some, an endless pursuit for the best pizza in this part of the country is a hobby. Whether you're a native of Mercer or Bucks County, you can add one of our locations to your list of places to try and we guarantee you'll be glad you did.
There's a reason growing numbers of families and friends stop by for our delicious Brooklyn style pizza pie, a sixteen inch thin pan platform of fresh crust topped strategically (not too little, not too much!) with plum tomatoes, basil, mozzarella and, a must for this classic, extra virgin olive oil. And once they've tasted our Brooklyn pie, there's no stopping them from returning to Piccolo Trattoria again to try others.
See the menu here and then make plans to come in to try one of our fantastic "Gourmet Pizzas" including Chicken Parm, Buffalo Chicken, Penne Vodka, Philly Cheesesteak and so many more, most never seen in any other pizzeria before. Or go for a more traditional, Cappriciosa (prosciutto, olives, tomatoes and mushrooms), Quattro Formaggio, or "four cheese" pizza, or another long-time classic, straight from the heart of Italia: Pizza Marinara, so named for the seafaring native of Naples who enjoyed it.
